Default Oil pressure gauge?

Everybody seems to have an actual gauge and know what their oil pressure is. Im clueless because I only have a stupid light for oil pressure. So my question is do i need to put a real gauge in???

No, you don't NEED one. It's really just a luxury. Lots of people do gauge cluster swaps for their earlier year XJs so that they don't have they don't just have those dummy lights. Do a search on how to do it and see if it is something you want to do. I am also in the same boat as GA. Mine doesn't work because I bought an oil pressure sending unit from Autozone and it was faulty from the moment I installed it.

Need one, no. Want one, yes. The light will tell you when you are done. The gauge will indicate and let you analize what's going on perhaps indicate a developing problem. Me, I always liked having the gauges.

Lights suck, go aftermarket or do a swap.
