thread title says it all. when i make a right or left hand turn my oil pressure drops and then returns to normal once the turn is completed. is it just the sensor or am i missing something else?

if its just the sensor, could somebody go about telling me how to replace it?

Have you checked the oil level? If the oil is low enough it can slosh away from the oil pump pick up while turning.

When you make a turn what RPM is the engine turning? You take your foot off of the gas while turning, the RPMs drop and the pressure drops, you get back on the gas and the RPMs go up and the pressure goes up. Normal for oil pressure to change with RPM. Just how low is yours dropping?

Dipstick Length Dip-stick issue ?

Mine is 23 3/8 to the little ridge on the bell. Full is a (shy), 2 15/16 from the end. Also, I'd stick my head down there and make sure my pan is still the right shape!

sensor is easy to replace, unplug the cable from the sensor, remove the sensor, install new one and replace electric cable. might want to use some teflon (?) tape to insure good fit of the sensor

No need for teflon tape when installing a new sending unit.

I agree that you should rule out the sending unit before looking elsewhere.

I buy my oil pressure sending units directly from Jeep for the best reliability/accuracy/mating with the factory gauge. Well worth the extra $20. Lots of threads of people having issues with some (not all) aftermarket oil pressure sending units.
