So I did my oil a couple weeks ago and snapped the oil pressure sensor in half. I replaced it with a Durolast from AutoZone and I've been getting bad readings ever since. Some days it'll sit happily at 40 but a lot of the time it dances around 10-20. Every now and then it'll drop to zero and the light will turn on.
I don't seem to be loosing oil and there's no strange noises or anything so probably just a bad sensor?
Has anybody else had an issue like this?

 

Probably a bad sending unit or poor connection at the unit.

 

For the extra few bucks I usually get the factory senders...in addition I put a 1/8 pipe tee in line with the block fitting and ran a grease gun hose to an auxiliary mechanical gauge that I tuck in by the corner of the engine bay ..always good to have a secondary confirmation of oil pressure when the gauge goes squirley

 

do you know who makes the factory sender? AutoZone only lists Durolast. I like the mechanical gauge idea.

Your OEM (Mopar) part number is 56031005AB. You can probably get one at a Chrysler dealer.

 

Its simple and cheap to build...most expensive part is a 0-80 or 0-100 gauge from Grainger maybe 10-15 bucks
