Mine went out on me when i would drive it would show bout 40 but as soon as I stop it would drop to ZERO and warning gauge would come on.So I finally got around to changing it the other day and all is good now.Really easy fix for $35...Wasnt hurting anything just got tired of the warning gauge coming on

As long as your engine is putting out 5psi/1000RPM, it's fine. That's the MINIMUM oil pressure required to prevent the engine 86-ing itself. I hover between 30 and 50 right after an oil change, a little less with more fluctuation once the new lube is worn in.
