Default oil gage problem still...

Ok, my oil gauge used to work "properly". so after changing my oil a week ago my oil pressure gauge read "maxed out" past the scale. posted the problem here and discovered with your help that the pressure switch was, in fact, broken. So today during a break in the rain i replaced the switch and now it responds when i turn the ignition switch on by moving to the right about an eigth of an inch(even more maxed out! wtf!) but the gauge still reads the basically the same. Any ideas? what's the likelyhood that the new gauge is bad right out of the box? is there something i'm overlooking? it has the correct amount of oil in it.

Are you sure you got the correct sending unit?

I thought the same thing when I changed mine, but turns out it was for the warning light too. Check the part number. Seems to be something with the year?

I've replaced mine (was showing "max" pressure and was leaking too) and everything was fine after I replaced it. But I'd add one more thing to take a note here, not sure if this has to do with anything, but...
when I went to autoparts, there were two "types" available, one was for US models and the other for Canada models. I had no idea about this first. They look the same, but US has one wire connector, Canada has two wire connector. So I've got US as I have one wire.
I've got mine at NAPA for 48 bucks part # OP6695... uh, just because.
I recall Advanced AutoParts had those senders for under $30 ...don't remember exactly.
