Hey guys, I was changing the oil on my 98 cherokee classic today and as usual the oil filter was hard as crap to get off and I ended up busting a sensor off right above where the filter is at on the block. I'm thinking it's an oil pressure sensor, but I'm not sure. If someone could give me some guidance on this it'd be much appreciated. The plastic threads are in the part where it screws in too.

No more than 1/2 turn after the gasket contacts the base if it leaks snug it a "little" more, rinse, repeat. Yep oil pressure sensor, if you busted it off in the block plan on spending the afternoon fishing it out.

Don't use a filter wrench when installing the filter and you won't have that problem. Smear some oil on the filter oring and tighten it by hand.

That's what I'm gonna start doing with the filter because it is a pain, but I got the sensor, installed it, and finished with the oil change. Everything is working good. thanks again for the help guys
