My oil filter adapter's leaking. It sets-up quite the stink of hot oil while driving and a smelly fume after shutdown. Enough already. I want to repair it but cannot find a procedure in my FSM. What's the procedure and are aftermarket gaskets/o-rings suitable?

 

Theres many write ups on this. Go get some O-rings from the dealer and get a torx wrench then have some fun.

 

Thanks man. Hey, how'd your no-start issue work out? Did you get it to fire-up? If yes then was it by key or by hot-wiring?

 

Wont beable to get to it till tomorrow. Im at work right now. The guy I bought the engine from has a spare starter so Im gonna try that. I'll still be replacing the battery wires just in case.
