I think Cruiser had the right idea. Clean all wet oil around any suspicious areas and let it idle for a while and then maybe drive it at neighborhood speeds for a short distance, so the oil won't blow everywhere. Stop frequently and check the area. It if is leaking you should be able to tell where and if it is leaking.

For your last question, the adapter torque is 50 ft lbs but I don't think even Cruiser could get a torque wrench on that piece with the motor in. Nice and TIGHT should do it. I doubt if you over did that one because of the location. Hope you lubed the big o ring. Let us know how you do. Regards

I cleaned the whole adapter and got it nice and shiny with a rag and some brake cleaner, then let it dry off and lubed up all the o rings and carefully put them all in. The oil is pretty much everywhere I don't even know how to clean it all off. Any suggestions? I tried an engine degreaser and it didn't seem to work very well.

I use paper towels and Krud kutter. Home depot or Lowes. It is not in the normal cleaner section. The stuff loves to eat oil and grease. It does not like to mix with water. Great on hands too. It is the best cleaner I have used. Go with the oil flow. Start cleaning the oil filter area then the adapter where they they would leak. It doesn't have to be spotless, just dry so you can detect new oil. Test the Jeep. If no leaks go to the next area of flow and clean that and try again until you find it or that it is not leaking. Don't look at the whole mess just the suspect areas. They are small areas and you can clean them. PMA

Alright, I have a big test tomorrow so I can't get to it today, but Wednesday-Friday I'm off so I should have time.
