15w40 is too thick for the winter, but great in the summer if you live somewhere hot. I run 5w40 year round because I never know when I need to change my oil, and I always end up having to dump the thick oil before the cold months arrive.
Wix 51515 or Napa Gold 1515 filter is all I use. Motorcraft FL1A is a cheaper alternative

Love my 5w40. 0w40 is available up here, too, now.
I even mix it with a little balsamic and put it on salads. Provides a nice buffer between my teeth to prevent wear.
