Is it just me, or does the OHC seem a bit cheap?
I know the slot towards the rear is to carry sunglasses. What fits in there, kid glasses? I can't fit my Fox or Oakley sunglasses in there.
Does anyone know what the other one is for? I have seen someone remove that panel and stick a Cobra radio in there which I was considering. Has anyone done anything else?

I had no problems keeping my work safety glasses in mine. If you think they are cheap. My '91 has one in it. It was an option you don't see very often. I called a dealer about a compass/temperature module for mine, about two years ago. The module for a 1991 still listed for $699. They are worth there weight in gold. Check e-bay for the going rate of them. Usually well over $100 at a crack. So if you don't want to use it. You can sell it. And it will sell quickly. http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-01-JEEP-C...c65a7f&vxp=mtr

Most Junk yards know the value of them. Maybe they already knew it didn't work. If you could find them all the time at $30 a pop. It would certainly pay to yank out and resell them on e-bay, every time you see one. Who in their right mind would argue about $170 profit. It is also why digital dashes are yanked out of cars instantly, at a Junk yard. there worth a lot of money.

The other compartment toward the front is for a garage door opener. Refer to the owners manual.
That's why we call them "stealerships".
I had an overhead console installed, and I love it! I just wish it had another storage compartment, the OHC seems to have a lot of dead space.

That is true like anything, Including XJ's. Still your missing an opportunity to make some easy cash then my Friend. There is six of them on e-bay right now. ranging from $36 (with 11 days left) to $86 (with 5 days left) Some have bids on them. At $86, that is 180% profit. Legally!
