Oh FRACK! Dip stick issues....Handle Broke
What now? Handle broke off. Dip stick is still in the tube. Suggestions......Anyone?

Maybe needle nose pliers with outward force.
Drill a small hole in the plastic and wedge a small screwdriver in there.
Clean both sides as best you can use plastic epoxy or hot glue tog et a grip and get it out.
If all else fails getting it from the top, you could unbolt the dipstick tube from the block and the dipstick tube should come out pretty easily. Once that's free, getting the dipstick out should be pretty straightforward.

Drill a very small hole (centered) and screw in a small wood screw. Use that to pull it out. Might want to blow out the drill bit shavings before pulling on the screw, to reduce the chances of anything going down the tube.

You could unbolt the upper half of the tube and, if youre lucky, it will seperate from the lower half. The tube is a 2-piece design, and has been known not to come apart easily. If that doesnt work, drill it as posted above, which may actually be the best way to go here.

Thanks guys. Tried to drill but it just slides deeper in.
Gently vice gripped the outside below the stick. I thought "Great! I'll drill a tiny hole, screw in something small and pull it out.
Problem was drilling caused the plastic to crumble. 🤪 So, left the vice grip where it was, super glued a thin bolt in there and waiting til morning.
I was going to first take out the tube itself BUT the support bracket is behind what I'm guessing to be a bolt stud locked in the block. It has threads and what looks like a torque head (male) end. It's also used as a ground. Does this stud/bolt come out of the block? If so, I'll just yank the dip stick tube out to solve this issue. Thanks again!!!

Perhaps a shop-vac and a thin spout funnel. stick the shop vac hose into the funnel so that the suction is focused through the small funnel tube. Stick the small funnel tube down into the dipstick tube and see if it grabs enough via suction to tug it out.

My dumb idea is maybe trying some snap ring pliers. For external snap rings I think. So when you squeeze they go out. Smaller tips might grab.

Thanks for the help y'all! I just yanked the whole tube out and fixed the issue. New dip stick on the road. Oh, and proper tools made the job a snap. Just needed a star socket for the stud holding it in.

Keep an eye on the seal where the dipstick tube goes into the tranny for leakage down the road.

You're forgetting there's a steel dipstick in the center of that molded piece. A better idea would to use an airhose on the trans vent and blow it out.

It's the oil stick blowing in the tranny wont work nor the engine, too many other places for air to go. I took a better look at the pic , take the bolt out at the engine block and remove the whole tube, mine came out pretty easy when I done my rebuild. Just twist back and forth as you pull, put a little silicone around the top of the tube during reassembly better yet replace the tube with a new one while you have it out.

I appreciate yall's help and possible solutions. I already yanked the whole tube out to solve this issue.
Also, replaced the dip stick from the parts store and back on the road.

Thanks to PB125. I was able to remove the tube and replace the dip-stick. My complete set of TORX sockets and screwdrivers (1/4 inch drive) only cost $14.00 at Northern. The dip-stick was $4.00. at Pull-A-Part.

I had to do this very thing two weeks ago on my 99... worked like a charm after two or three attempts
