Well on my 91 it twists and then comes right out.. now when you say shattered to yo mean inside the valve cover? Is so you will have to remove the valve cover then inside where the CCV mounts there are umm some things you must unbolt then you will have complete access to the CCV holes. Could be a good time to replace the valve cover gasket and clean it and the top end up a bit..

Ya there not a dealer only part. You can find them in the Help section of any auto parts store.

thats not it bro...it's not a pcv it's a ccv theres two on the valve cover(in and out) they're two piece,a grommet and the ccv valve all my local parts stores told me it's a dealer part....worse yet the dealer told me it would take a week to get....but it's only $10 for grommet and valve

i don't think you guys are thinking about the same thing as me... a ccv is a calibrated meter that does not work on vaccum, like a pcv does ,but it does the same job

Yeah on the 96 and newer models they have a grommet and CCV that slides into the grommet which seals it and does a better job of not allowing oil to come through the seams like the older models do.. It should just twist and pop out like a cork..

And yes it is a dealer only part..You can also order them online at jeepoemparts.com which is uaually cheaper...

yea,i've been trying but i can't get em out..i'll give it a try later,i'm gonna have to pry it out somehow cause they're both really stuck in there

well i had to brake the front one to get it out and to my surprise, it was just a breather,no valve..not what my haynes says..so the quickest thing to do since my parts store was closing when i got there was to get one of those chrome filters that just stick in the valve cover, nice haha..
