Will I be able to put a factory overhead console into an '87? I think it's from a '92. I Happened to snag one last time I was at the junkyard. I can figure out the wiring for the lights, and I don't care about the compass. I have the brackets and visors too.

I also was planning on replacing my headliner too, and was thinking about going back and getting that from the same vehicle so I won't have to cut the holes for the brackets and to make it easier to locate their placement.

Just need to know if the roof structure is the same so I can drill holes for the bracketry....

 

I believe it is (I hope it is). I am in the same boat you are.... '87 with a '92? OHC waiting to go in.

You will need the shorter visors from the junkyard (the visors in my '87 go all the way across at least). I don't think the compass need to be wired, but if you want the exterior temperature, you will need to wire in the temperature sensor (it is pretty easy), assuming you can figure out which wires to use.

Speaking of that, anyone have a wiring diagram for an early 90's OHC?
