I added cheap wal-mart lights on my bumper and they do wonders for me. Especially in the fog.

Your lights don't dim when your bass hits? I'm surprised.

nope. I have 4 overhead 150 watt lights, 4 baja 100 watt lights on my bumper, 2 back up lights, led's and extra lights inside my headlight, 2 12" subwoofers and amp and all.

I have had a powermaster 170 amp alternator for a while now so it replances any juice I need. even if I have all of that stuff running and im parked for 10 minutes and come back, my battery is still full. the stock alternator is 90 amps

baja lights suck. the pattern is garbage.

hellas are the cheapest you should be getting if you want something nice. IPF, PIAA, and lightforce are good brands too. and the kragen HIDs are pretty nice, and theyre like 90 bucks each.

Thats your opinion 93XJ, this whole thread is about people talking who like them and have modified the stock wiring and bulb. so Im not sure what you are trying to accomplish. you could always start your own thread called "Bajas suck hellas are the cheapest you should get"

my bajas light up everything within 50+ yards of my jeep, especially the 2 I have angled out 35-40 degrees. they are the yellow fogs and I cut off the bulb shield so theyre way brighter. Its nice going arround sharp corners and already having it lit up yellow

my baja lights work awesome , not the best lights out , but for 20 bucks compared to the 100+ dollar lights , the baja is actually a better deal , if baja were to make a 100 dollar light it would probly blow everyone elses away ,

Cool What gauge wire to use for roof spotlights???

Hey guys, I put together a roof basket with roof lights. I have 5 x 100 watt oreilly generic brand spotlights on my rig with a 40 amp relay. I currently am using 10 gauge wire. They dont shine as bright as id hoped. I have looked at two calculators for wire gauge and watched one youtube video. All say different gauges.... what should I use????

Using 20 ft wire
40 Amp relay
500 watts for the 5 x 100 watt spotlights
12 Volt battery

500/12= 41.66 amps

Take a look...
1) Says 6 gauge:
http://www.bulkwire.com/wireresistance.asp
2) Says 10 gauge:

I had a set of those on my roof rack for about 5 min and removed them, had to strike a match to see f they were on. I gave them to my son for his XJ to use for backup lights not great there either.

I use 6 of the Hella Black Magic lights 4 on the bumper and 2 on the roof a cheaper set of lights but I'm not on the trails much at night by choice. I have 2 of the Hella 500's mounted on the back of my rack that I can use for backing up or work lighting.

As for fog lights I had tabs welded to my bumper to mount them where they had some protection. I'm in the forest's and overgrown fields often and small trees get ran over all the time so that was an issue plus having them low enough to be effective, a must.

I'm currently running Wally-World lights because they're cheap and they work good. Harbor Freight has their KC knockoffs for $10.99 each.
