Default Oem remote keyless entry

Is there a way to program a keyless entry remote on a 2000 at home I know most cars you can be turning key on and off while lights are on or something long that line.

not true

if it is a 2000 xj here is what you do..

1 Press the LOCK button for 4 to 10 sec on the remote and the door
2. While the LOCK button is pressed (after 4 sec) press the PANIC button, release both buttons.

If it works, then when you hit the Lock button the doors will lock

I believe it is page 25 or 26 in the owner manuel..

keyless remote: got one of these? I belive all 2000 cherokees with power locks can use the remote, though my owner's manual says it's optional. Seems new remotes must be programed by the dealer....unless freegdr's link does the trick.
