OEM oil pan gasket question...

Have a 1997 xj 4.0...what color was the OEM gasket?.. blue or black?

Does it really matter?
If it leaks replace it. If it doesn't leave her alone. Just my opinion.

Guy said he replaced it last month and its leaking so wanna no the OEM color to see if he lied. The color is blue on there now

Since it's leaking I would go ahead and change it. More then likely your not going to get anywhere with the po about it. Protect your investment and change it. Also when you do check the lip of the pan and make sure that it isn't bent. It is also possible that he did change it and either over tightened it or didn't tighten it enough. Are you positive that it is leaking from the oil pan? I know that if the o-rings go out on the oil filter adapter it can look like that it's coming from the RMS or oil pan.
