Default Odd noise like a fen going on and off

I Just Got a Cherokee Sport 99 4WD and the engine is making this weird odd noise like a fen going on and off (10 seconds on 3 off kind of noisy) it goes on for a while and then shuts itself off for a little time then again on so if any this have happen to any of you before an can give me a clue will be great I'm new in to jeep i have always love jeep but this is my first jeep + new in this forum witch i find it awesome

There's an electric fan that kicks on if it reaches a certain temperature. That might be what your hearing.

yea but it is constantly on and of like 10 seconds on and 3 off + temperature never exceeds 210

The efan cycles on/off with the a/c compressor.....sounds like u may be low on refrigerant causing the on/off cycling.

no i checked and change liquids and the sound still there the fan goes on and off all the time 10 seconds on and now like 2 seconds off

sorry everybody i fix it turns out that the air conditioning goes on if you let the air direction button on the icon that delivers air to the windows no matter if the air conditioning button is on or off so problem fixed

Haha. Yep I ran into the same thing when I first bought my xj. My e fan didn't work then after I put the replacement in. The fan started cycling on and off. It's because if you have the window defrost on the ac comes on to remove moisture from the air before being blown onto the glass
