Default Odd leak in cargo area

I recently replaced the rear hatch gasket due to the original one being all torn up. It has rained several times since then with no leaking.

After the last rain I found a small wet area about as big as my hand just forward of the rear tie down hook on the passenger side in the cargo area. I don't know where the water came from. It seems to be too far forward to have been a hatch gasket problem, and the headliner fabric and board are dry.

The only thing I have messed with since the last rain was I replaced a bulb in the rear passenger brake light/turn signal housing. Is it possible for water to leak in around the rear brake light/turn signal housing?

Did you make sure that the loom for the hatch wiring is sealing? Water could be tracking down through this if it isn't.

That's what I was wondering. I'm sure the seal got compromised. Does this happen much?

When you pulled the light off did you happen to look down into the fender? When I pulled my driver's rear taillight to either replace a bulb or mount the CB antenna mount I noticed there was water. Pull the passenger side and there was water there too. I have had other people check and theirs were full of water also. I need to replace my hatch gasket but perhaps the side window gaskets could be leaking as well.

Turn a corner with water in your fender and it could slosh up and wet the carpet.

I ended up drilling a couple holes in the bottom of the fender (between tire and rear bumper) to let the water drain.
