Default Odd AC problem

I turned on the AC and it sounded like something was stuck in the AC vents on the dash. The sound was very loud so I switched the AC from 4 to 0 and back to 4. The noise quit. All was calm and cold. What the heck! Has this happened to anyone? The last time it did it to me I was on the highway and it went for a couple minutes sounding like a card stuck in a plastic fan very close to the vent opening.

Thanks freegdr. It's funny but now I can step on the gas to make the sound. I'll pull the blower.

Steping on gas has nothing to do with blower that would be cooling fan related ....

Would switching off and then on relate to the cooling fan or a switch? Are these all common Jeep problems?

Direct the airflow to the floor vent. When you step on the gas does it temporarily switch to the defroster? If so your vacuum check valve is leaking. Could be whatever's hitting the fan in there is getting moved around by the damper door.

Thanks Radi, I'll try it. I couldn't get it to make the noise tonight.

It would certainly also be worth the time to give the radiator fans a good looking over. The electric fan comes on with the A/C
