The mans post is 9 years old, so I doubt he is listening

Why not give a more detailed description of your symptoms, such as whether you have no lights, or just engine failure etc

If no lights, wont be an OBD2 code, but more likely bad cables, or ignition switch for example

I bought an OBD-II module for my vehicles. Its made my BAFX and its bluetooth to your device. About $20 on amazon and is not VIN specific. So I use it on all 4 of my vehicles. Just download an app on your phone to use it. I recommend "Torque Pro". It's like $5 from the play store, but there is a light version that still reads codes AND deletes codes and gives you a crap ton of parameters from the OBD-II port. temperatures, O2 sensor readings, voltages, .... all kinds of stuff. You just set the app up to show you what you wanna see by adding the things you want to read to the home page. Easy to use and SUPER helpful diagnostic tool.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Quote: This one will read history - cheap and works great. If you own an XJ, you should have a code reader in your glove box.

Amazon.com: Actron CP9550 Pocket Scan Plus OBD II and CAN Code Reader: Automotive
when i click on this one no longer available. is there another one thats cheap. thank you

This one reads codes AND let's you see all kinds of engine parameters live.

I had no problems with it. Paid $5 for the app Torque Pro and then you just use your phone to check your codes. Works through Bluetooth.
