OBDI code 41
the description of the code is 41 Alternator field control circuit open or shorted. what do i need to do? anyone know what this means?

uhm how do i do that? my car wont start it just cranks and cranks and cranks then i have to charge the battery and i try to start it again and it just cranks til it dies
