Default OBD II

where is the connector for the OBD II, I assume somewhere in the dash I'd like my roommate to connect his laptop to it so i can see what error codes "m getting since my engine light came on. I just don't know where in the dash that connector is located.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is OBDI. If it is 96 or later it is OBDII and should be just under the lower panel of the dash on drivers side. They are all standard.
