HELP....I have a 2001 jeep cherokee. The problem I keep running into is the eng light keeps going on, I know it's the o2 sensor. My question is how do I reset the system for the light to go off, without going to the dealership?

and you go to autozone and they can clear the code for you free of charge.

how about fix the problem, then reset the light, instead of keep resetting the light

 

what if the engine light doesnt turn on when problems like this occur...whats goin on there?

 

i dont know of any reason the CEL wouldnt go on if the 02 sensor was bad.

a bad ecm could also cause it. my diesel had a few problem that I never had a light for.

 

mines does the same thing w/ the CEL. im pretty sure its the o2 sensor, it comes on occationally. would a ne wo2 sensor fix it or do i need a new cat?

 

Mine has a new cat...but still the cel comes on. Code says bad sensor. It stays awhile and then goes off on its own, then comes back.
This isn't a sign of any "real" problem , is it. It runs great.

 

I have no computer, no o2, no map and no power. 2.8 baby, sorry I get goofy too.....................
