Default NSS or Shifter?

Hey everyone. Just hopped in the jeep today to go to work, and the shifter would not budge (button was stuck). The only noise it would make was a click, but of course would not turn over and start. I have had a NSS issue before where I simply adjusted it and was ok, but before I could still depress the brake and throw it in neutral and start it up. Could it be the cable that runs to the shifter, solenoid, or something in the brake? I haven't seen too much on this so any help is appreciated!

Sounds like starter maybe.

I read that to mean that his shifter would not move out of Park?

Of course it should still start. If it is clicking, it's not the NSS.

Ok I will have to check it out and see if I can get it tested.

Correct, I didn,t think it was the NSS but wanted an opinion on it. After I tried starting it I tried to throw it in neutral by depressing the brake pedal, and that felt tighter than normal (and of course I could not shift it). I did however get it in neutral with some fidgeting, and it started up fine. Not sure if its somewhere in between the pedal or cable, or simply the starter like freegdr said

Hmm alright, I will have to take a look tomorrow morning and see if it might be the cable to the shifter? Not sure if it would be the connection on the brake pedal either or how that even works
