Just put 4.88's and Aussie lockers front & rear. 4.0, AW4, 242, d30 & 8.8. When turning past about 1/2 way to lock (like u-turn or parking) the front diff would make a horrible clanking, clicking noise then start binding up. Almost like it was in 4wd. Verified I was indeed in 2wd but the problem persisted. Finally I removed the front driveshaft & the problem disappeared! Just hear normal clicking from Aussie locker. Crawled under and turned front driveshaft yoke and it's clicking & feeling like it's trying to lock into 4wd. Tried adjusting linkage but even disconnected from linkage, it still clicks and hangs up. It's got 315k on it so something's probably wore out, but any ideas of what? Shift fork pads maybe? I imagine it was doing the same before gears and lockers, I just didn't feel it with the open diff.
