np242 dana 30 axle

ok, its late and my brain is not working. What is a np242 d30 nodisco axle and how does it work, compared to a d30 witha cad??

The non disco axle (non CAD) has a one piece passenger side shaft and the disco has a two piece with a collar and fork to lock them together.

it disengage the front axles for easier turning of front end when in 2wd
