Default Np231 t-case
Will a 231 t-case out of a ore 97 xj 4.0 work In my 98? My 231 is shot and I can get ahold of one for pretty cheap but heard the amount of input splines are different. Any help would be appreciated.

check numbers on the case halves. Tail could be different so as speedometer cable and 4x4 switch, splines should be the same.

What year is it coming out of? That will determine the spline count. If it is a 23 spline, it will work.

J indicates it was manufactured to go in a Jeep. But it could be any Jeep, XJ, MJ, TJ, or YJ etc....
