Default NP231 J Transfer Case Rebuild

Okay, what it the correct part number to use when replacing the pads on both the mode shift fork and range shift fork? 1998 XJ 4.0L the parts provided by dealership 4167969 Qty 4 and 4219073 Qty two will not fit current shift range fork. In researching this NP231 rebuild 4WD magazine had a great article on installing a SYE of which began this process do to a drive train vibration on acceleration which was diagnosed to a broken retaining C clip on inter bearing race. All being equal these pad kits are not the same and the article shows the exact same as what I have in my transfer case. The current range fork pads looks like it was molded onto the fork. So is this a case I need to replace the shift range fork with the same configuration or did Chrysler do a manufacturing modification? Looking to find the correct solution.........

NP231 front output shaft seal replacement? What is the best way to install? Small hammer, pipe same diameter as housing? Looking for installation guidelines so I don't end up with future issues.

Fork pad set here: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52219_0003.htm

As for the seal yes, that's how you do it. With all seals I prefer to clean up the race a little bit and wipe a very small amount of RTV around the outside. If there are any nicks in the aluminum housing this should stop leaks.

A little bit different from your '98 but print this out and keep it handy: http://www.lunghd.com/Downloads_and_Links/NP231.pdf
