NP231 info
Hello All,
i have an NP231 in my Jeep Cherokee and was wandering if it should free wheel or not. it is a part time transfer case so im thinking it is normal. Can someone answer this for me and clear it up
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "free wheel", but you can only use 4x4 when you're offroad. Since it's a part time transfer case, there needs to be some slippage to keep it from binding up. Pretty much, don't use it in the rain or on dry pavement... just for offroad. Hope this helped you out a little. And if not, someone should be able to give you some insight.
