Default NP231 grinding noise

Hey all,
So I have just rebuilt my tcase with new bearings and seals and chain last december and the case never sealed right so I cracked it back open and resealed it. Now its grinding in all gears. If the trans is in reverse drive or neutral there is a clicking at idle and it gets worse when accelerating. Its almost like the nuetral/drive shift gear is not lining up properly and grinding. However all of the gears work. If I put the trans in drive I can shift through 2 hi 4 hi 4 lo and all work as expected the wheels all turn and if I touch the gas its all right just a clicking/grinding noise. I had the thought it could be the chain but its only 10 months old. It is possible that it was run with low fluid for a little while just before I opened it up again. But it wasnt clicking then. All of my testing is with the jeep on jack stands btw. Sorry this is so long. What do you think it could be? You guys all seem to come up with the things I forget. Thanks for your input.

Sounds like the fluid pick up tube may not have seated properly and rubs the chain.

Well after tearing it apart and looking and trying to find the cause I finally gave up and thought id just drive it. When I put it back together the 3rd time it was still grinding but I put the jeep on the ground anyways. And low and behold it was fixed. So somehow being on the ground fixed the problem. It doesnt make any sense to me though becuse it was jacked up by the axles so all the weight was already on the suspension. But oh well problem solved
