NP 231 J transfer case
I have a NP231J out of a 1999 XJ. I have it apart to install a SYE. It does not have the mode synchro keys or springs. Is this normal? I really can't find them for anything newer than 1996. I am wondering if they stopped using them, or if this case was apart before, and they weren't reinstalled.

Never mind they are only for the cases that shift electrically. Not needed with manual shift. Detent takes care of it.
