Nothing on my steering wheel works
Hey everybody I'm new to this forum so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong category but I purchased a 2000 jeep Cherokee which is lifted 4 inches with 33 inch tires. When I purchased the jeep I knew it was going to have some issues but now I can't even get the car inspected. Nothing on the steering wheel works such as (Cruise control and the horn.) Also my windshield wipers stopped working. I thought it would be the fuse but I replaced fuse 30 in the interior fuse box and this did not fix the issue. Turn signals and hazards work, headlights and high beams work, no lights are on my dash except low washer which comes up from time to time, the windshield wipers sprayer works but the wipers themselves do not work, and the horn does not work. If any one could help me that would be great.
Thanks,
Cameron
Thanks,
Cameron

Hi Cameron. I'm not the right guy for a 2000. Yes, right place. Give them more info...Signals work? Emergency flashers? No wipers? The the high beams click down? Engine light on? (get the code).
Until someone who can help comes along you might turn something on that doesn't work, then giggle the wires and connectors under there and see what happens.

I don't have a multimeter... is that something I should invest in buying? Also I forgot to mention there is like no tension on my horn... almost feels like theres no airbag. On my suburban you can tell theres something behind the steering wheel but in my jeep it feels like nothings there. You can push in super easily. I can push it in with my pinky

There may not be an airbag in it, previous owner could have removed it. or the airbag could have deployed at some point which would explain the clock spring not working either.
Make sure you unhook the battery and leave it unhooked for a while before you go poking around to find out. Accidental airbag deployment can get ugly in a hurry.

The funny thing is when I purchased the jeep I signed a piece of paper saying the jeep had never been wrecked and isn't a salvage title... I don't know it was off craigslist but still think I got better end of the deal.

Also does anyone know why my windshield wipers aren't working? I removed fuse 30 and then the sprayer stopped working so I'm pretty sure its not a fuse
