Well im sitting at about 3 in lift with shakles and aal. But im not really sure where to go with rear shocks? How do i know what will work with a particular vehicle? Maybe post some good reading for me about understanding shocks, as well as how to pick them? Thanks cherokeeforum for all the help you've been thus far.

I appreciate that, but am still a little lost. Based on my type of lift (coil spacers, aal, and shackles) should i still be running stock length shocks?

No you should not, my 2" lift was 1/2 or maybe even 1" too much for the stock shocks. You can just go to somewhere like quadratech or rustys and order shocks for 3" lift.

Do it the right way.

Disconnect your sway bar(s), flex your suspenstion and measure the distance beteen your upper and lower shock mounts for both extended and compressed distances.

Purchase the shocks based on those dimensions.
