not sure whats wrong

Default not sure whats wrong

needed to know what might be wrong with my jeep its a 2000 jeep cherokee sport..it has been shutting off at redlights..sometimes like jerks like its not getting enough gas..and recently the temp gauge went down then back to middle while driving.any suggestions of what might be the problem?my husband says either the fuel injector or fuel pump

oh and i did get it put on a computer to find out the problem it said my emissions and they said i might have a hole somewhere..looked and never found a hole..also my engine light is on

well when my fuel pump was bad, it would not run well and jerked and stuff....so maybe it is the fuel pump.

If you suspect a fuel problem the first thing to do is check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a mechanical pressure gauge. You can rent one from any chain auto parts store. While you are at the part store have them scan your Jeep for any other codes that may be stored in the computer.

Like RTorrez said, check the fuel pressure. Other possible causes of stalling include the IAC valve and the throttle position sensor.
