Not starting cranks but no power to coil or fuel
My 1998 XJ started fine 6 months ago now nothing she cranks loud almost like it's almost going to but no fuel pressure no power at coil
Also the gauges don't work but the odometer and lights on dash do
So far I checked this
-Replaced relay for asd and fuel pump
-Jumped the fuel pump and it will then kick on
-Jumped starter
-Replaced ignition switch
-Checked crank position sensor it's fine
- checked the fuses related to starting system
- started checking wires
- cleaned up all the grounds
What am I missing
Can it be the computer?????
Please help I am about to just part it out soon I have been at this for two months no progress

I would start by finding a code reader and check it for any stored code. But, it does sound like you cps has gone out. The cps can test good but still be faulty. I had my cps tested on my 98 and showed good but it still wouldn't start until I replaced it with a new one.

Ya, that certainly sounds suspect of the cps. Your ignition, fuel pump, & gauges feed through the computer, dash lights feed directly off the headlight switch. Digital odometers are stored permanently in the system separately, so as to be tamper proof.
Try pulling the codes, often times when the computer takes a dump, you won't get any trouble codes at all.

One thing I should have mentioned. When it won't start try unplugging the cps and replug it then see if it will start. Sometimes doing this will get it to start if there is a problem with the cps. While you unplug it make sure that the plug connections are clean. Also check the wires to make sure they didn't melt. The melting of the wires is a common problem.

Ok so it's getting power to the asd relay
But it's only getting .44 volts to the coil wire harness I know it should get 12 volts
And two fuses in the box under the hood get no power I know one of them is a ignition system fuse

THANK YOU for updating the thread with your resolution and not just leaving it hanging. I am researching "no start" threads today and far too many of them just end.......
