Not death wobble but low speed shimy?
Ya so, I have finished the 4x4 swap on the dd. I have a straight wheel and no out of control after bumps, and going fast is fine. I have a low speed turning issue, like a pulse in the steering wheel and like a shake when turning. Not when going above parking speeds though....... I'm lost? its not that bad but kinda annoying. Tightening the track bar at the axle kinda helped but maybe not. u-joints look good?

Does this happen when the wheels are fully cranked one way or the other, or does it happen no matter how far you've got the wheels turned?

ya, good thought I forgot about that, I do have the 242 so ya maybe its not adjusted correctly? I will lift the front end while in park and see if I can spin the drivers side tire. Then I will look at the u-joints. The axle has been sitting for a few years before I put it in.

ya, I'm not in 4x4. I checked the u-joints for slop, none and I turned the wheel left to right while turning the front tires no binding........ So I guess its time to look at the track bar again.

Did you get to the bottom of this problem?
I have an 112,000 miles, 1996, right hand drive model with the same problem. It started about a month ago. The car as had an MOT test since it started, no issues were found in any part of the steering/suspension etc.
Could it be anything to do with the power steering?

It isn't a Jeep but on my buick I had a problem that sounds the same when I was going very slow 5-10 at the most the front end felt like it was catching on something when I tried to turn, just a very slight vibration. I checked the steering components first and when I tried to remove the power steering reservoir cap it wouldn't come off. I found I had a pin hole in a hose and it leaked just enough to cause a vacuum, and cause the steering gear box to chatter at low speeds. As the engine turned faster more pressure was created and it stopped the vibration.
