Well the problem I just fixed is back. The heep is shuting off ramdomly. It will idle likea new motor but when you put her in gear she'll cut off randomly. The other day I pull the muffler off to find my cat had gutted itself into the muffler and stopped it up. With just a straight pipe she ran great, but today on the way home she started doing it again. Yes it still has the straight pipe.

93 4.0l 5speed
I have replaed coil, and plugs. I have clean every sensor and pull the tb to clean it. I need help.

if the exhaust was plugging up. You would have a problem accelerating or going up hills ect.

X2 on exhaust, but if running straight pipe, shouldn't be the issue. Sounds like a failing Crank Position Sensor.

x2 on CPS, go pull the codes on the motor. If it is the CPS it will throw one.

check engine light won't come on. It will just read the code with a scanner. Next time it happens unplug the cps the plug it back in after 30 seconds then see if it will crank back up. Otherwise how is your fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure is GREAT! But it will start back up after you let it sit for a min.

Just because they changed the CPS already doesn't mean crap. You could have a bad connector on the engine side of the CPS.

It does really sound like a CPS.

This is a 93? if so you can run the flashing light code check turn key on-off-on-off-on-off-on count the blinks.

This really doe sound like CPS and there are lots of bad parts at part stores and shops. Unless you replaced it you dont know what was put in to fix it before you got it.

I have been trying to avoid messing with it because of where it is at. I guess I'm goin to have to bit the bullet and replace it.
