Okay so me being fairly new to the jeep world I am tearing the front apart soon ( tie rods and track bar) and just wonder if this is what the springs are supposed to look like? This is an 89, non lifted. The ride going down the road is nowhere near as nice as the 98 we have. In mine I can feel every single pebble it seems. All four struts were replaced roughly 5 months ago ( Monroe sensatrac since its a DD). Just wondering if this is the normal look of the springs while its sitting on the ground? Thanks

For one a xj does not have struts. It only has shocks. And the spring in the picture is very worn out. the springs are compressed down thats why the coils are so close together at the top. I would replace the coils and it will make your ride alot smoother

bad typo on the shock vs strut ws on the mobile. Thats what i was thinking they were looking like they have seen some better days!. Rear leafs are looking pretty straight, what are your thoughts on add a leaf to get some life back in them or just replace? thanks for the advice

WOW! I haven't seen coils that bad in a long time. Time for a change. It will make your ride much more comfortable then what you must have now. The nose of you Jeep must be dipping a lot.

There is a reason i take the 98 a lot! I know this is no cadillac and would never suspect it, but like i said you feel every single pebble in the road and it sucks!

Agreed, compressed coils and flat leaf packs. You'll have all the vehicle weight on an AAL and it will wear out very fast. Get a three inch lift with a full leaf pack! it'll probably be cheaper than getting a replacement suspension from Jeep

If thats what the fronts look like... I can't imagine what your leaf springs look like... damn! No AAL.. replace the leaf pack.
Yeah they are totally sagged! You should ride in it, feel every stone on the road! Actually since starting this thread got springs and leafs on the way all for a very good price for slightly used gear from some forum members! Gotta love the buy and sell section!!

Am I seeing things or are there 2 isolators on that corner?
Looks like a wore out cargo coil, close on top and spaced farther on the bottom. Time for fresh springs all around.
