Default Is this normal?

When driving my XJ around in 4 wheel drive it makes a whining noise. Is this normal, or do I need to replace something before I create an even larger problem?

Thank you guys.

Does anybody have an answer, or is this forum completely dead now? A year ago and I would have had 10 answers/replies in 15 minutes!

It's not dead, quite the opposite. For example i'm on here all the time and i never saw this thread.

It could be a number of things. Any clue as to where the whine may be coming from? My first guess would be diff or t-case fluids

I'm not 100% sure where it's coming from, but sounds a lot like this.

my wife whines whenever I am working on the jeep, or if she walks by the computer and I am on my "jeep cult" I have tried to fix it, but cant seem to find the problem. I think she has too much hot air, but quadratec doesent carry a relief valve.

a little whine is normal but checking all fluids should be done ....if your in the water all the time fluids should be checked more than normal water in things will cause big probs down the line
