is it normal to be able to twist the front drive shaft with the vehicle in park and sitting on the ground? and in 2wd?

Yup. If its not locked in 4wd it will turn. Someone correct me if I'm wrong LOL

If it has the CAD diff and it is in 2wd, yes it will turn. If it doesn't have CAD, you have bigger problems as it turns with the wheels regardless of t-case shifter position.

CAD= center axle disconnect if there is a vacuum module on the diff.

ohhh ok. cause im going to be working on a vehicle with cad. and wasnt sure. what would cause a electonic 4wd to go into 4wd and come back out a few miles later? could it be a vacum problem? i know im in the wrong section for this.

Ahh I wasn't even thinking about the CAD. Makes sense.
