Default More performance

Hello everyone I have a 98 XJ with about 169,000 miles and I did a tune up plugs, wires, and air filter last year and distributor this year I just want alittle more performance out of it. What can I do? How well does those stp additives work? And any thoughts on performance chips?

Replace your down pipe and go full cat back with high flow cat a chip should help I hear bad things about jet performance tho I think? And intake, bored throttle body no spacer there pointless Idk think you'll get anything from any additives. These are things I'm thinking of doing lol also change your gears if you have. Big enough tires can make a world of difference...

I stumbled across the site a couple of months ago. (Unfortunately my wallet and, wife same thing) would have a bird if started buying that stuff. Every now and then I look through it for the ump-then time, and drool. better than a hustler mag. (That or I'm getting old)

you can get to sides to the story on chips, iv heard people say de-chiping will give you the engines raw power and sort of take anyfactory limitors off (this is like attacking your fuel efficency with a machete), however id rather go with a chip myself because of the various uses and the fact that the good 1s are engineered with everything in mind.. they can add everthing:hp,torque, mpg ect... you can also program them for special uses and some chips come with those (i cant remember wut called) things that plug into the computor under dash and you can tune your engine for various things like towing, fuel efficency and even have sport or other settings,, you can also get those programing things by themselves and get a noticable increase in performance.

i realy dont know more than iv writen about chips or anything electronic for that matter, anyways i saw this in 1 of those adverts on the side of anothr page when surfing ounce and checked it out.

http://www.gfchips.com/jeepcherokee.aspx

(like i said i dont know anything about chips other than wut i said and i sort of think the figures they are advertising in this 1 might be a touch inflated and to good to be true. regardless there is a large aftermarket for every type of vehicle.)
