LOL Yeah I am for now, I have only had the XJ for exactly 9 days now, and the first 3 it wasn't driveable because of issues with the head, tail and brake lights.
Now all of that is fixed and I am starting to mod her, She isn't my DD and she isn't lifted yet so the endlinks aren't my main concern right now. Once she is lifted they will be getting swapped for gen 2 disco's
My daily is a 1989 Nissan 240sx or the 95 ford bronco. I usually leave the bronco for the wife though ( easier for her with our daughter.)

I've been fighting this for a couple of years on my daughter's '97. I've replaced the track arm, and the right front U-joint, and still the noise. The weld style repair sounds like a distinct possibility. On the photo of the welded bracket, I noticed a crack on the left side of the bracket. Is that just in the undercoating, or possibly a crack in the "frame"? I've seen this on a pickup previously, so I believe that's what is happening. Thanks for the information.

I must admit though after you pointed that out it did concern me for a few lol.
So far the very sloppy weld a layed on has held nicely and still no popping. It fixed my issue 100%.
I should have put my helmet on and layed a nicer bead but i didn't feel like dragging everything out so it was a line it up and turn the head kinda job lol.
I hope it fixes both of you guy's problems. As I mentioned if you are feeling a pop under your foot while driving and making a turn 85% of the time that bracket is the issue.
Lemme know how it turns out for you.
Have a good night,
Matt

um no, my tire does not hit my lower control arm, i dont have to turn the steering wheel all the way, just half a turn of the steering wheel. my tire never touches anything, i've got some wide wheels too, i've got 3-5/16 backspacing.
