97 XJ sport, 3 inch procomp lift. my track bar was old and needed replacing so i did that and the noise stopped. it just came back as the weather has started to warm up. i believe it is because i need an adjustable trackbar instead of the stock one i'm running. could that be the case? its usually when i turn a right hand corner, hardly ever when turning to the left. its a POP!

Same thing was just happening on my 91, The track bar mount was loose and popping horribly , Id check all the track bar mount bolts and make sure they are nice and tight.

I have this same problem. I'm at stock height. I replaced my trackbar for a different issue about a year ago, it didn't help the problem at all. I've just learned to turn the radio up louder.

You usually only need a adj. trackbar 4" and up.. and as far as the popping it could be the bolts as well on the mount when i bought mine did the same thing. They had to cut out all the bolts and dye the holes back to strength then use new bolts. and now it's all good. and to be honest i'm sure you stock track bar is fine but if you ever plan on going higher it's way worth it.

I tighten mine as tight as I could also and it still made the pop, I added a small maybe 1/2" long weld across the top of the bracket and it went away.
The nice thing with such a small weld is if i need to remove the bracket I just pull the bolts out and wiggle the bracket back and forth to have the weld let go.

Any chance of getting a picture of where you did this? I think I know what you mean.. just want to be sure.

I have a 2000 and mine is doing the exact same thing. Not 100% of the time but most. I will have to look into the track bar and Axle U joint. Looking forward to Any solutions.

when u lift a xj it slides the axle to the left is u do not lengthen the trac bar.... so that pop is your tire hitting your lower control arm. either get and adjustable trac bar or put on wheel spacers!

Here are some pics of it, Sorry they are huge, I didn't resize them.
This is on the track bar bracket on the drivers side. If you are feeling a pop under your foot while turning this is ( after researching ) the cause 85% of the time.
