While driving down the road, i hear a sound like i am draging cardboard box. Would an automatic transmission make a noise like that. Going 30 mph you can put tran in neutral and still hear the noise.

Any clues.

Start out by telling us what you are driving??? If it is XJ or Grand like it says on your profile. If it is a GC you need to post in the GC section since this is the XJ section. You might get a better response in there. Good Luck!

In order for us to give you more accurate advice and help, we must know the following, along with detailed information as to the symptoms/problems etc:

Year
Model
Engine
Transmission
Transfer case

 

Check underneath for dead animals or a stick dragging the pavement.

 

sometimes tree branches and tall grass will get wedged up into the underside there and make a ruckus

 

Ruckus is one of my favorite words.

 

Have you checked for cardboard boxes...?
