Alright, it turns out that the battery was the main culprit. Who knew 65 months meant 65 months (we had it since maybe July of 2002 lol). One new starter and new battery later, we're golden. A little less than $250 worth of parts and an afternoon of quality time with my father. Thanks for the input everyone :]
