Default No start

91 Jeep Cherokee stalled after driving it a thousand feet. Replaced fuel pump gas tank prior was running great for a few days. However died after few days. Replace the crank position sensor. Whoever still won't start. Fuel comes out of the fuel rail when you press. Did spark plug test only the center one spark plug Sparks. Anybody know what this might be. And why it is not starting? Car turns over cranks but won't start won't fire. Something has to be wrong with the spark since I only can get one spark plug to spark. Spark comes out if coul.

Are the spark plug wires visibly damaged? Is it wet inside the distributor?

Why did you change the fuelpump and tank in the first place?

That's an expensive roll of the dice. Testing beats parts swapping every time.

That doesn't mean much. You could have 10 PSI of fuel pressure and you'll get a squirt from the valve, but it won't start.

But since we know you have a spark problem, let's focus on that. Once that is corrected, if it still doesn't run, we'll come back to that.

It's not starting because you don't have spark to all of the cylinders. Simple cause and effect. No mystery.

Now the question is, why do you not have the correct spark? That leads us to a few basic questions:
  1. When was the last time you changed the cap, rotor, and wires?
  2. Have you checked the spark plug wire connections? They can get loose.
  3. Have you removed the distributor cap to see what's going on in there?
  4. Have you pulled the plugs to see what condition they are in? What do they look like?
  5. How strong is that one spark? Is it a fat, blue spark? Or thin and yellow?

Start with answering each of these questions, one by one, and I think we'll make progress quickly.

Default Fuel pressure question

Fuel pressure reads 2 lb. When you turn key on on position. However when you turn the ignition to turn the motor trying to crank it it reads 40. Will not start. Going to go change the plugs wires and condenser today. Why does it go 2 pounds to 40 pounds
