Default no spark, no power to injectors

1999 xj sport. My AC compressor pulley seized and it would stall the engine. So I put on an AC delete pulley on started the Jeep ran beautiful shut it off started it again a few minutes later ran for 2 minutes then it shut itself off. I stupidity disconnected the battery so I deleted any codes it threw. I replaced the distributor cap and rotor and the starter coil still no spart the the distribitor I'm getting power to the new coil but no spark. I know the injectors won't pulse if there's no spark so I'm not to worried about them. It tested the CPS it seems good. Any help would be great. Thanks

I'd test the CPS again and most likely replace it. Sound like a classic CPS failure to me.

sk8rjd,

lowrange2's advice is spot on, but before jumping on the CPS do these simple checks:

Check the Automatic Shut Down (ASD) relay power fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) - it's fuse F19, 25A. Swap the ASD relay with the Radiator Fan relay (PDC) and give it a try. Still no luck? Check the ASD relay control coil power fuse, F11, 20A, in the Junction Block (JB). Still no luck? Do what lowrange2 suggests and recheck the CPS.

What did it do when it shut off the last time? Any symptoms or did it just shut off.

TESTING PROCEDURE 1991 – 2001 4.0L H.O. engines

1. Near the rear of intake manifold, disconnect sensor pigtail harness connector from main wiring harness.
2. Place an ohmmeter across terminals B and C (See Image). Ohmmeter should be set to 1K-to-1OK scale for this test.
3. The meter reading should be open (infinite resistance). Replace sensor if a low resistance is indicated.

I thought you said you swapped the relay. What makes you think you need a new ASD relay?

Did you check the fuses I pointed out?

It ended up being the CPS. So I guess that testing method is kinda useless unless you have a short. Thanks for all the help!
