So I was driving one day and my 96 XJ just shut off and died. It wouldn't start back up, it would just keep cranking. The first thing I did was replace the CPS. Did not solve the problem. Replaced the cap, rotor, ignition coil, plugs, wires and cam sensor and still no success. No spark and just keeps cranking. It has fuel. So I checked the ASD relay and it was good. I am not sure what can be wrong at this point. I have searched quite a bit have now I am not sure what to do or what else the problem could be.

 

Are you getting 5 volts to the crank and cam sensors?

That was the orange wire on my 97, and 98....not sure on a 96..

 

Any codes ?
