No reverse lights

No reverse lights
My 1996 XJ has had no reverse lights for a couple years. I know its not the bulbs. Every so often they will turn on but the next time I try it there gone again. Is there a bad switch, maybe back wire? Any ideas?

for this issue I muse say this.
USE THE SEARCH BOX!!!!!!!!
With that being said, this topic has been beaten to death. It is your NSS switch, if you drive an automatic. It is underneath the jeep on the driver side of your tranny. Seach for how to clean it, as that may be the problem. Either that or it could be like mine was, and the PO (Previous Owner) just took it out.
