Default No rating on relay - return it?

I picked up a Duralast relay from AutoZone. The box says 16151 60-0200. The relay itself says “0321 RL860”

I can’t find any specs on this. It’s going to be used for a fuel kill. Stock fuel pump relay is 30amps (1999).

I’ve tried googling and calling NAPA but there don’t appear to be any answers. Does anyone know where I can find out the rating? I’m leaning towards just returning it and picking up a 30amp relay.

Since the 16151 cross references to #13500118 (per Autozone web sight) which is a 40 amp...I would say 40 Amp...but don't bet the house on it.

I saw the same thing. Do you happen to know how much current the fuel pump draws? I know the stock fuel pump relay is 30 amps but does the actual fuel pump pull that much? I want to be safe.

Sorry I don't but googling it came up with could spike to 15amp and average 8 amps.

hmmm…. Well i have to go back to autozone anyway to return the kill switch because I’m a moron and bought one that lights up so I may as well return it and get a 30amp relay that I know is 30 amps.

by the way… do you know of a good + voltage wire to tap into that runs along from the 10min kick panel to the fuel pump? Also, is it smarter to put the inline fuse between relay and positive or relay and ground or does it not matter?

Sounds about right. I recall mine drawing about 7-amps through the ballast resistor, and around 10 bypassed. That relay is probably fine for a kill switch.

do you happen to know where I can tap into positive power and do you know if it makes a difference if the in-line fuse is on the positive or negative coming off the relay?

This sounded like a cool idea, and there are a few versions on there on eBay. Once installed, it needs to see the rfid tag on your keys to enable the relay. Completely hidden, no manual switch, essentially transparent to the user.
